Brewing coffee can be done through various methods, and the choice depends on your preference and the equipment you have. Here’s a basic guide for brewing coffee using a drip coffee maker, one of the most common methods:

  • Place a clean, paper filter in the drip coffee maker basket.

  • Add the desired amount of coffee grounds to the filter. A standard ratio is about 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces of water, but you can adjust based on your taste preferences.

  • Fill the coffee maker's water reservoir with cold, filtered water.

  • Turn on the coffee maker and wait for it to brew. The machine will heat the water and filter it through the coffee grounds into the carafe below.

  • Once brewing is complete, pour the coffee into your mug and enjoy. Add milk, cream, sugar, or any other desired additives to taste.

Pour-Over Coffee Guide

  • Start with freshly ground coffee beans (medium grind).
  • Use a pour-over cone and filter.
  • Pour hot water (just off boiling) in a circular motion over the coffee grounds.
  • Allow the coffee to drip through the filter, adjusting the pouring rate for desired strength.

French Press Coffee Guide

  • Coarsely grind coffee beans.
  • Add coffee grounds to the French press.
  • Pour hot water (just off boiling) over the grounds.
  • Stir and let steep for 4 minutes.
  • Press the plunger slowly to separate grounds from the brewed coffee.

Aeropress Coffee Guide

  • Use fine to medium grind coffee.
  • Insert a filter into the Aeropress cap.
  • Add coffee and hot water, stir, and steep for 1-2 minutes.
  • Attach the cap and press the coffee into your cup.

Turkish Coffee Guide

  • Use very finely ground coffee.
  • Combine coffee, water, and sugar in a cezve (special pot).
  • Heat slowly, stirring until it foams.
  • Pour into a cup without filtering.

Cold Brew Coffee Guide

  • Coarsely grind coffee beans.
  • Combine coffee grounds and cold water in a jar.
  • Steep in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
  • Strain the mixture and dilute with water or milk to taste.

Espresso Brewing Guide:

  • Use finely ground coffee and a high-quality espresso machine.
  • Tamp the coffee grounds firmly.
  • Extract a 1-ounce shot in about 25-30 seconds.

Siphon Coffee Guide

  • Add water to the bottom chamber and coffee to the top.
  • Apply heat to create a vacuum, pulling water through the coffee grounds.
  • Remove heat, and brewed coffee is pulled back into the bottom.

Moka Pot Coffee Guide

  • Fill the bottom chamber with water and the filter basket with finely ground coffee.
  • Assemble and place on medium heat.
  • Coffee will rise to the upper chamber. Once you hear a hissing sound, it's ready.

Single-Cup Drip Coffee Guide

  • Use a single-cup drip brewer and a paper filter.
  • Add medium-ground coffee to the filter.
  • Pour hot water (195-205°F) over the grounds and let it drip into your cup.

Vietnamese Iced Coffee Guide

  • Use coarse ground dark roast coffee.
  • Place a phin filter on top of a glass containing sweetened condensed milk.
  • Add coffee and let it drip through.
